The 2011 Noosa Long Weekend Festival starts on Friday June 17 and goes to Sunday June 26 – now that is a long weekend!

The Noosa Long Weekend Festival is far too extensive to detail here but it will include Theatre highlights of which are the world preview performances of David Williamson and Mohamed Khadra’s At Any Cost and three One Act Play Festival performance and presentations of Jenny Bullimore’s Star Crossed, Mark Langham’s Nothing and Bruce Olive’s The Knock On The Door.
There will also be Musical theatre, cabaret and supper clubs featuring The Magnets from the UK, Sydney Cabaret Showcase 2010 Winner Toby Francis; Mrs Bang (aka Sheridan Harbridge) A Series of Seductions in 55 Minutes; direct from New York, the “Crown Prince of Cabaret”- Steve Ross; direct from Paris, French chanteuse Caroline Nin and so much more in this category.
Lovers of dance can see Romeo and Juliet by the Queensland national dance Company.
There will be a range of film and film events including Slow Food with the screening of Julie and Julia with French food.
If it’s Food which interests you mainly there will be plenty including the Crab Crawl, Gourmet Hinterland Safari, Street beach Promenade and Beef Burlesque at a range of restaurants and chocolate shops.
Workshops will be held for budding magicians, poets, Bollywood Dancing, Playwrights, and those who want to pursue voice, song or theatre.
There will also be an extensive range of interview sessions featuring Heather Ewart, Peter Thompson, Ita Buttrose, Alex Bernard, Richard Fidler, David and Kristin Williamson, Hugh Mackay and Barrie Cassidy.
